Privacy & Safety
Student privacy and teacher control
LessonRelay is built for short teacher-written lesson captures, editable AI drafts, and careful parent or student communication.
What LessonRelay does not do
LessonRelay drafts text from teacher-entered lesson notes. Teachers review and approve all outputs before using them.
- Does not generate images, faces, videos, face swaps, deepfakes, or likeness-based content.
- Does not impersonate voices or generate voice likenesses.
- Does not make automated decisions about students.
- Does not score, rank, diagnose, classify, or categorize students.
- Does not automatically send content to parents or students.
- Does not replace teacher judgment.
What LessonRelay collects
LessonRelay stores only the context needed to help a teacher organize lesson follow-up work.
- Teacher account information and usage status.
- Student nickname, Age band, instrument, level, materials, goals, and communication mode.
- Short lesson captures, confirmed private records, teacher edits, and final follow-up text.
- Billing status and product access information from our payment provider (Paddle or Creem).
What not to enter
Teachers should avoid adding sensitive information that is not needed for music instruction.
- Do not enter Social Security numbers, home addresses, medical diagnoses or health conditions, or financial details.
- Use a nickname or initials when a full legal name is not necessary.
- Keep family or behavioral details out unless they are directly needed for the lesson record.
How AI is used
AI helps organize and draft. The teacher remains responsible for reviewing the output.
- Teacher reviews every draft before saving or sharing.
- No automatic sending to parents or students.
- AI does not make professional diagnoses or replace teacher judgment.
- Lesson content is not used to train public AI models.
Recording policy
LessonRelay is text-first and does not depend on classroom recording.
- LessonRelay does not record lessons.
- Teachers enter a short text capture after the lesson.
- Text captures are the only input needed for the EA 1.0 follow-up workflow.
Teacher control and deletion
LessonRelay separates teacher-only records from external follow-up content.
- Private lesson records stay separate from parent or student updates.
- Teachers can edit final text before saving or sharing.
- Export is available for saved student data and lesson history.
- Archived students are hidden from the active roster while history remains readable.
- Permanent deletion should be used carefully after export when required.
